Literacy for All ®

  • Let the youngest child find the animal that is hidden on the pages.
  • Encourage your beginning readers to read the repeating words and phrases.
  • Let your emerging reader use the pictures to help read the story.
  • Move to the science text on page 16. Your chldren will see many of the same words from the picture story. That will make the text easier for them to read.
  • Explore the surprising concepts and more difficult reading passages on the linked web sites.. Talk to your children using words like "mammals, technology, glide, hover, and species."
